We had such a positive experience with Exeter Tutors and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for support with 11+ preparation. Ruth was incredibly helpful in connecting us with Dan, who was absolutely fantastic with our son. From the outset, Dan put him completely at ease and managed to make the sessions both enjoyable and productive. Our son genuinely looked forward to his lessons, which made such a difference. Over the course of the tutoring we saw a huge improvement, not only in his mock exam performance but, just as importantly, in his confidence and belief in himself. Dan really understood how to get the best out of him and helped him approach the exam feeling much more prepared and positive. Coming from a student who was just claimed their GCSE results, I highly recommend Exeter Tutors. For my maths tutoring, I was assigned to be with Susan who was the loveliest tutor ever. She was super welcoming to me and was so supportive throughout my year 11 maths GCSE journey; she made me go up a couple of grades! Besides her outgoing, kind personality, she made sure to guide me professionally through a range of maths topics, whilst also encouraging me all the way through. We have been absolutely delighted with the support and guidance both our Year 6 boys received from Caroline. Since starting lessons, the boys have grown tremendously in confidence and ability in maths and English. Caroline made the learning engaging, enjoyable, and easy to understand, while always remaining patient, encouraging, and supportive. Sabrina was incredibly patient with our son who is autistic and was often not keen on tutoring. However she gently and patiently guided him through the sessions, personalising his learning to keep him more engaged. I would strongly recommend Sabrina and Exeter Tutors to anyone.

We contacted Exeter Tutors to book lessons to prepare our daughter for the Colyton entrance exam. The tutor that was matched with our daughter has been amazing! Our daughter can be very shy and quiet and the lessons have given her such a boost in confidence and given her all the skills and knowledge to give her the best chance at the entrance exam. We opted to do the lessons via zoom which worked extremely well for our daughter. We also accessed the mock exams which I would highly recommend doing because they have given a real insight to how the real exam works and has made the real exam feel less daunting for our daughter.

Our daughter has had Daniel as a maths tutor for the last two years. She had lost confidence in her maths ability and was not enjoying the subject. Daniel immediately put her at ease with his friendly approachable personality. She has really enjoyed her maths lessons which he made fun and she found his explanations incredibly clear. He covered all areas of the maths syllabus to understand which areas she was finding challenging and tailored each lesson to her needs. I have used Exeter tutors twice now for GCSE support for my son, he had Verity for English last in year 10 and Claire Yates for Science this year in Year 11 they both provided excellent tuition and really helped with his confidence in both subjects. I would definitely recommend.

I booked tutoring support for my daughter Malena in the lead-up to her SATs, with a particular focus on Maths – an area she had been struggling with, especially in terms of confidence. We went through Exeter Tutors and were paired with Stephanie Hart, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better match. Stephanie was amazing – warm, friendly and completely put Malena at ease from the very first session. Her style of teaching was spot on. It was genuinely such a joy to see (and hear!) the progress Malena was making each week – not just academically, but in her self-belief too.
